Just got off the phone with Raymond. They didn't tell hm a whole lot but he thinks they may send him to the VA hospital in Asheville NC. More than likely it will be open heart to fix the blockages. Mom is travelling back to Letcher county with Kristin.
Appreciate the updates. Please keep them coming. I'd be interested in knowing when they plan to do surgery.
There are worse places to be stuck in if you're visiting someone in the hospital. Downtown Asheville has some really nice shops for Christmas shopping. You might be able to snag something special for Jeanie while you're there. If you need suggestions about places to eat or places to shop in your spare moments, I can ask Karl's brother and his wife for tips.
Asheville has a well-known food scene: lots of sources for local food and restaurants that feature only local/regional stuff. When we've visited in the past, David and Cyndi have fed us the most amazing grass-fed beef.
Anyway--just a few ideas for filling your down time if you end up spending some time there. (Not to mention touring Biltmore Estate).
